Medieval Graffiti Survey at Clare, Suffolk

SVCA were fortunate enough to have a 3-hour training session at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Clare, Suffolk yesterday with Matthew Champion of the Norfolk and Suffolk Medieval Graffiti Survey. The 25 participants enjoyed learning about how to carry out their own surveys in the future both in and around the Stour Valley and further afield. We learned recording techniques, how to identify and photograph the graffiti and how to conduct an entire survey. The enthusiasm was high at the end of the day and SVCA will organise future graffiti recording events.

More about the survey can be found here: http://www.medieval-graffiti-suffolk.co.uk
